Los Angeles Fires from a rooftop on Detroit Street

by Richard Conti LOS ANGELES FIRES - Conti, Pen and Ink.png Richard Michael Conti is a multidisciplinary artist in the Highland Park neighborhood of Los Angeles. Shaped by a childhood of frequent moves across the Midwest, his practice centers on being fully present and drawing inspiration from the subtle intricacies of everyday environments. His work explores these spaces through watercolor, drawing, and a range of printmaking techniques, including Risographs and cyanotypes. He is a member of the Arroyo Arts Collective, and his artwork has been exhibited in galleries throughout Los Angeles. In January of 2025, his watercolor Moment – Pointe received Honorable Mention in Painting at TAG Gallery’s LA Open Juried Exhibition, out of over 700 submissions. In addition to art, Richard is an accomplished musician and composed for Ave’s America, a documentary about photographer Ave Pildas. He is also a table tennis competitor, training under former Olympian Wei Wang — a pursuit that mirrors the precision found in his studio practice.
