U and I
by Lynn Viera
I am well aware
Of your distaste for me
But it’s not like we can part
So, I suggest you learn to love me
Hurting me just harms us both
Why shed blood
Why refuse to feed me
Why turn your head at your own naked body
How am I meant to keep you alive
If you can’t treat me any good
You have no choice but to live with me
If you want to live at all
Why refuse to love me like your own
Because I am your own
Though I suppose
If you were taught to only hate
To always remain dissatisfied with your own self
Never being enough
Asking you to love
May be too extreme
Perhaps learn to accept me
We are spending the rest of life together
Hellraiser or Lynn, is a multimedia artist whose work started with writing and has expanded to many 3D mediums and only recently has decided to share their words. They began writing as a means of processing their emotions and experiences as a teenager, something that has followed into young adulthood. They hope that other people can also find catharsis through seeing feelings they never had words to before, plainly written out for all to see. To see more work from them, find @Hellraisers_art on Instagram.
