A Silent Symphony

Amidst the walls that close around me
Silence echoes a fugue to my symphony

The room contracts, fear ascending a crescendo
Anxiety seizes my body, an uncontrollable tempo
The strings of my nerves, a frantic viola’s grace
Pandemonium disrupts the orchestra’s tranquil place.

Time ebbs and flows slower, it moves a lento
Drawing me deeper into the nightmarish arpeggio
The room reduces, an endless embrace
In its shrinking bounds, I find no solace, no grace
